Dr. Srinivasarao Yammani, Associate Professor in Geoinformatics, School of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences, Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, India, working in the fields of Sustainable management of natural resources, impact climate change on Water resources and its consequences and environmental pollution studies.
Completed Bachelor degree of Science from Nagarjuna University, India, in April 1987, and Master degree in Geology from Annamalai University, India, in April 1989. Research degrees of M.Phil. (1990) and Ph. D. (1994) were received in fields of integrated studies for groundwater resources assessment and its pollution in a ephemeral river basin in India from Sri Venkateswara University, India. University Merit Fellowship was awarded by Sri Venkateswara University, India during the course of Ph.D. University Grants Commission (Govt. of India)’s (UGC-RA) Research Associateship award was received in 1995 for doing post-doctoral work and completed the same at Sri Venkateswara University, India during 1995-2000. Department of Science & Technology, Government of India had awarded a project under the Young Scientist’s award scheme to work during 2001-2005 on water resources information system development using RS & GIS at Sri Venkateswara University, India. Received CSIR-Senior Research Associateship award (Pool-Scientist scheme) from Government of India to work on rainwater harvesting structures performance and evaluation at Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati during 2005 - 2008.
Attended various training courses and gained more than sixteen years of research and teaching experience in the fields of hydrogeology, groundwater, geomorphology, water resources, environmental studies and applications of Remote sensing and GIS.
Published more than 14 papers in peer reviewed national and international journals and nearly 10 papers/abstracts in conference proceedings. Actively member in various professional societies, and also serving as a reviewer for two international journals.
Prime research aim is to study and solve challenging water resource/environmental problems at various scales. Mostly emphasize to do integrated interdisciplinary advanced techniques, so as to simplify our investigations on water/environmental problems and optimize our resources.
